Lagos female bus driver cries for help as agberos assault her over money

A Nigerian woman working as a commercial bus driver in Lagos has cried out for help after being allegedly assaulted by agberos (motor park touts) who attacked her for refusing to give them money.

The incident was revealed in a series of posts shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by user @omoelerinjare.

The woman, a mother of two, explained in the video that she relies solely on her transport business to provide for her children.

According to her, she had not worked for over two months due to mechanical issues with her vehicle.

However, on the day of the incident, the agberos confronted her at Mowe-Ibafo bus stop and demanded money.

She claimed she promised to settle them when she returned from her trip, but instead, they descended on her, physically assaulted her, flattened her tyre, and damaged her vehicle.

In her words: “See what agbero did to me this morning. They said I should give them money and I told them I will when I’m back. For over 2 months I didn’t work, my engine and gear have problems. I have two kids. This is the only way I make money.”

“They started to beat me at Mowe Ibafo, at the bus stop. They removed my car rubber. They’re cheating us, the women. They flattened my tyre.”

The disturbing incident has sparked outrage online, with many Nigerians flooding the comment section to condemn the attack and call for justice.
