A newborn baby girl rescued after buried alive in a farmland in Kamba, Dandi Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
A farmer, identifed as Malam Kabiru Kamba made the shocking discovery while working on his farm on June 27, 2025.
According to Kabiru Kamba, he noticed an unusual mound of soil, which prompted him to flag down some motorcyclists to help dig.
Upon uncovering a piece of cloth, his suspicion grew, and he alerted nearby police officers.
The police swiftly responded and dug further, rescuing the baby girl, who was found alive and crying.
In response to the incident, the police have launched an investigation.
The Kebbi State government, through the Gender-Based Violence Technical Working Group, has promised to brief the Wife of the Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Idris, for further intervention and support.
