With her 10.87s, Ofili broke her previous PB of 10.93s set in 2022, becoming the joint sixth-fastest woman in the world this year. The performance could also have earned her a spot in her Diamond League debut at the Prefontaine Classic set for July 5.

Following her brilliant outing in Texas, the 22-year-old took to her social media platforms with a gratitude post.

“God’s timing is perfect, praise you Lord. New PB (10:87) Big win in the final (10:78w),” she wrote.

Favour Ofili’s switch of allegiance to Turkey saga

Reports circulated on Ofili exploring a switch of allegiance to Turkey citing poor treatment by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) after she was excluded from Nigeria’s 100m roster at the Paris 2024 Olympics and the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, following a controversial administrative oversight.

The talented sprinter alongside four other top Jamaican athletes made the decision to join Turkey ahead of Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, thus causing lots of controversies in the respective countries and the track community
