Man Utd Eyeing Move to Sign One of Europe’s ‘Most Destructive’ Midfielders

Manchester United could look to beat a host of sides to the signing of Sevilla’s midfield star Lucien Agoume in the coming months, according to reports – with manager Ruben Amorim keen on bolstering his midfield ranks ahead of what could be a busy summer at Old Trafford.
United only finished 15th in the Premier League last season, comfortably their worst-ever in the top-flight since the competition began in 1992, and Amorim will want at least a top-half finish going into next season if they are to turn their dismal form around. That could see Agoume join the club, with the midfielder an inviting proposition thanks to Sevilla’s poor form.
Report: Man Utd ‘Closely Monitoring’ Move for Lucien Agoume
The report by Fichajes states that Agoume has emerged as one of the most attractive names of the summer, and that has seen United set their sights on the midfielder, who has had a ‘solid’ La Liga campaign that saw him labelled as one of Europe’s most ‘destructive midfielders’.

United are set for a midfield overhaul, having already announced that Christian Eriksen could leave the club next week, and reinforcements will be needed – which could drag Agoume into their ranks.
United are ‘closely monitoring’ the situation, with the club keen to improve their midfield dominance, and are considering him as an alternative to their poor cohort of stars that largely failed to deliver last season, including Casemiro and Mason Mount among others.
Having failed to qualify for European football next season, United will have to entice Agoume with promised game time and a solid project if they are to land his signature ahead of other clubs.
Agoume’s price tag sits at around £20million, making him a viable option for the Red Devils – especially if they manage to sell some of their other stars, with Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho both being touted to leave the club in the coming months.
The 23-year-old Cameroonian came through the youth setup at French outfit Sochaux, before a move to Inter Milan – however, with little game time available he joined Sevilla for a fee of around £6.6million last summer, impressing heavily in his second full season in La Liga despite Sevilla’s poor campaign, that only saw them finish one point ahead of the drop.
