Fabrizio Romano: Bayern Munich ‘going strong’ to sign Nico Williams

Premier League heavyweights are in the bout, too.
Bayern Munich‘s search for a new left winger – and Leroy Sané replacement – has appeared to crystallize around Athletic Club star Nico Williams.
But it will not be easy for the Bavarians, nor other interested parties such as Arsenal FC and Chelsea FC from the Premier League, to consummate a deal with the LaLiga club. That’s due to the player’s demands, according to transfers journalist Fabrizio Romano.
As captured by @iMiaSanMia:
Bayern are now going strong to try to sign Nico Williams. The club had two direct face to face meetings with the representatives of the player. They know it’s not an easy deal, especially financially, but they want to try. The release clause is not a problem for Bayern. It’s about Nico’s demands. Athletic are prepared to offer Williams an important new contract proposal in case he decides to stay. There’s also interest from Chelsea and Arsenal, but both English clubs feel that this deal is really complicated financially [@FabrizioRomano]
After flirting with an FC Barcelona transfer a summer ago, the options ahead of Williams look very different now. But is the Spanish international in a position to command the salaries he wants – or will Bayern end up bidding against itself as it tries to reign in its wage bill?
